<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sealing an organic EL display device reducible in manufacturing cost while effectively eliminating an influence of moisture. <P>SOLUTION: A sealing substrate 40 is installed through a sealing material 52 to face an element substrate 10 on which an organic EL layer is formed in matrix shape. A gel-like desiccant 30 is filled in an inner space surrounded by the element substrate 10, the sealing substrate 40 and the sealing material 52. Since the gel-like desiccant 30 is in a gel state, it is flexibly filled in the inner space of the organic EL display device to completely eliminate a gap. Since the inner space is filled with the gel-like desiccant 30, moisture hardly intrudes into the inner space from the outside, and the mechanical strength of the organic EL display device is improved. Since a plate can be used without needing to form a recess for the installation of the desiccant in the sealing substrate 40, the manufacturing cost can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
