摘要 Provided is a secondary battery which improves the utilization rate of a negative electrode material and reduces the active material, and consequently lowers the cost and reduces the weight. A secondary battery having a high utilization rate is realized by using a negative electrode composition for a secondary battery composed of a mixture which includes pearlite and carbon in the active material which has a metal oxide as the main material, or includes pearlite and does not include carbon. The mass content of the carbon includes the values represented by the line drawing the function expressed by a first-order equation which adds 4.7 to the product of 6.6 x 10-1 and the mass content of pearlite. The negative electrode composition for a secondary battery is composed of a mixture including the value "S" of the sum of the mass content of carbon which includes the "0" determined in the range of values exceeding the values represented by the line and the mass content of the pearlite which does not include the "0" in at least the mass percent of "S/A x 100" with respect to the mass content "A" of the active material.
