<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive torsion beam having a simpler form and being hardly breakable and to provide an optical scanner using the torsion beam which is hardly breakable at a torsional turning and has a large turning angle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The end part of the torsion beam 1 has a curve in the thickness direction. Thus, the influence of the shear stress, which may cause a break of the torsion beam 1, is diminished and at the same time, the concentration of tensile stress is relaxed.
