The invention relates to a suspended gas bag for installation in the region of the roof frame of a motor vehicle. The suspended gas bag comprises a gas bag envelope (12), which has two sidewalls that are connected via an edge region and surrounds a gas chamber. The gas chamber comprises at least one protective region (22a) and at least one flow chamber (22b) that is in fluid connection with the protective region (22a). The flow chamber can be inflated in the installed state of the suspended gas bag between the protective region (22a) and the internal structure (50) of the motor vehicle. Furthermore, fastening devices are provided, by means of which the suspended gas bag can be connected to the internal structure of the motor vehicle, wherein at least one flow chamber fastening device is located in the region of the flow chamber (22b).
