<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic brake cooling structure of a variable phase device in an engine for an automobile to extend the lifetime of friction material used for braking a rotary drum. <P>SOLUTION: In the variable phase device changing phase of a camshaft 2 by braking the rotary drum 44 rotatably supported on the coaxial camshaft 2 rotating relatively to a sprocket by the electromagnetic brake 40 and delaying rotation of the rotary drum 44 to a sprocket main body 12, the electromagnetic brake 40 brakes the rotary drum 44 by relatively sliding the friction material 66 on a disk surface 44a, and an oil guide groove 90 is formed on the disk surface 44a along the circumference direction of a circle thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
