PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external battery pack preventing a fault of an electronic unit and a built-in battery of the electronic unit, and to provide a power supply apparatus using the external battery pack. SOLUTION: The improved external battery pack is provided which drives the electronic unit and charges the built-in battery built-in in the electronic unit. The battery pack is provided with the battery, a DC/DC converter converting a voltage value to a value different from a voltage value output from the battery, and a remaining capacity detecting circuit reducing the voltage value of output voltage of the DC/DC converter when a remaining capacity of the battery becomes lower than a prescribed value regardless of the connection of the battery to the electronic unit, and further reducing the output voltage of the DC/DC converter so that the built-in battery of the electronic unit cannot be charged after a prescribed time elapses.
