PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm allowing reduction of power consumption by setting a standby mode in normal time when smoke does not occur to reduce a current amount to a light-emitting element. SOLUTION: In the standby mode, the current amount supplied to a light-emitting diode LD is set as a small value by a current adjustment circuit 6, and rough smoke sensing operation is performed in a signal processing circuit 4. When it is confirmed that an output signal value becomes large from an amplifier circuit 3, the current amount supplied to the light-emitting diode LD is increased by the current adjustment circuit 6, and it is transferred to a sensing mode for determining whether or not to perform alarming by a loud speaker SP in an alarming determination/control circuit 5.
