PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for manufacturing a block which enable the easy, sure and economical formation of a recess as a habitat space for seaweeds in the surface of the block, by a process wherein an existing form is used to keep a recess forming tool provided with a fixed piece so fixed as to project inside the forming tool between flange parts of the tool connected removably to each other with a fixing bracket and a removing bracket used appropriately as implements for work. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the block comprises the step of using the form divided in a plurality to provide the recess forming tool 20 which has the fixed piece 22 so provided as to be held between the flange parts 12A and 12B of the forms 10A and 10B to be connected removably to each other and which is made to project inside the assembled form so as to form the recess in the surface of the block. On the occasion of molding the block, the recess molding tool is fixed in strain inside the form by the medium of the fixed piece of the tool held between the flange parts by using the fixing bracket 30 on the outer side of the form to make concrete or the like fill the assembled form.
