PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display and operate a recording title held in a recording apparatus not supplied with power, a recording apparatus which is not an operation object at present or a recording apparatus not connected at present. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver with the recording title management device controls the recording apparatus 16 and 17 by an AV/C command. Then, the list information of the recording titles held in the recording apparatus 16 and 17 is acquired and held in a flash memory 5. On a monitor 12, the list information stored in the flash memory 5 can be displayed in a list. Then, when a specified recording title is selected from the list of the list information, the power is supplied when the power of the recording apparatus is not turned on, the recording apparatus is selected as the operation object when it is not selected as the operation object, and a message for urging connection is displayed in the case of a non-connected recording apparatus further.
