An air-conditioning system and a method of controlling the air-conditioning system are provided to newly define a comfortable mode so as to improve satisfaction of users. An air-conditioning system includes a fan, an outlet, a vane(25) and a vane motor(24). The fan blows air. The outlet discharges air blown by the fan and heat-exchanged. The vane is attached to the outlet and adjusts the flow direction of the air discharged through the outlet. The vane motor automatically controls the angle of the vane. The fan or the vane generates direct wind and then generates an indirect wind.
