PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device capable of shortening the reset period by trapezoidal pulses. SOLUTION: The plasma display device includes a display panel having a plurality of display electrodes and a plurality of address electrodes crossing with the display electrodes, and a display electrode drive circuit for driving the display electrode. The display electrode drive circuit applies trapezoidal pulses whose potential changes in predetermined inclination to the display electrode in the reset period, successively applies scanning pulses to the display electrode, in an address period after the reset period, and applies the predetermined number of sustaining pulses to the display electrode in a sustain period, after the address period. Furthermore, the display electrode drive circuit repeats driving of a subfield having the reset period, the address period and the sustain period by two or more times. The display electrode drive circuit controls the inclination of the trapezoidal pulse in each subfield, according to the number of sustaining pulses in the subfield, before the previous subfield.
