A safety system for getting on and off car passenger protection and a control method thereof are provided to prevent the safety accident which can be generated in the outside of the vehicle door by outputting the alarming sound if passenger is sensed in the set section. A safety system for getting on and off car passenger protection comprises the bracket(103) fixed to the door upper panel(102); the infrared ray sensor(121) fixed to the outer side of bracket; and the step lamp(122) fixed to the inner side of bracket. The door upper panel is positioned at the upper end of the vehicle door(110), and the infrared ray sensor senses the passenger getting aboard the vehicles or alights. The method for controlling the safety system for getting on and off car passenger protection follows the steps: the step that the door close switch is operated and the infrared ray sensor is operated; the step for sensing existence and nonexistence of the passenger within the set section from the infrared ray sensor; and the step for outputting the alarm if passenger is sensed in the set section or closing the door if not detecting the passenger within the set section. |
