A skateboard comprises illumination means (brake light) 10;10' which illuminates when the skateboard is in a braking disposition. The illumination means 10;10' may be provided on a rear portion of a board, and comprise an elongate member. In a braking position the board is disposed at an angle from the ground such that a rear portion of the board is tilted downwards towards or is in contact with the ground. A tilt switch 51 may be provided to activate the illumination means when the board is disposed in the braking position. |
