PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite machine, having both a reading function and a printing function in which while a certain user is using one of the functions of the composite machine, another user is prevented from using the other unused function without permission. SOLUTION: As a result of a decision (S3005), when the composite machine is set so that execution of a second job is permitted during execution of a first job, the second job is executed during the execution of the first job (S3006); and when it is set so that the second job is not permitted during the execution of the first job, the second job is executed, after the execution of the first job has been completed (S3008).
