The invention concerns a method for signal amplification using a switched mode amplifier system comprising a delta sigma modulator (DSM) and a power amplifier (PA), whereby an XOR operation is performed with the first operand being the output signal of the delta sigma modulator (DSM) and the second operand being a clock signal which has a clock rate N*f D which is a multiple of the clock rate f D of the delta sigma modulator (DSM), and a signal resulting after said XOR operation is used to drive the power amplifier (PA), a switched mode amplifier system, a base station, a mobile station and a communication network therefor.
