FIELD: transportation; transportation of goods. ^ SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to making containers. The structure of a rim seal of a floating tank roof comprises a rubber-fabric diaphragm, scrapping device, compression springs, one end of which is immovably joined to the floating roof, sliding sheets, on the upper profiled ends of which, between the inverted L-shaped profile components, a top seal is pressed, and on the lower ends, between flat topped profile components, bottom scrapper-seals are pressed and are fixed using levers, with regulator screws, hard scrappers, pressed to the wall of the container by springs. The sliding sheets are joined to the floating roof by panthograph suspenders and, using doweled joints, are joined to protective metallic sheets, with a rubber-fabric diaphragm. Ring heaters are fitted onto the floating roof. The invention seeks to increase gas tightness of the seal, minimise of contamination inside the seal, reduce the risk of fire, increase the quality of cleaning walls of the container from oil residue, paraffin deposits, contamination at subzero temperatures, more efficient operation of the seal at any height of the floating roof, shorten duration of assembling and enhance maintainability. ^ EFFECT: increased gas tightness of the seal, minimum contamination inside the seal, reduced risk of fire, increased quality of cleaning walls of the container from oil residue, paraffin deposits, contamination at subzero temperatures, more efficient operation of the seal at any height of the floating roof, shorter duration of assembling and enhanced maintainability. ^ 3 cl, 1 dwg
