PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ceramides, in a selective, efficient and safe manner. SOLUTION: The method for producing the ceramides includes a step for forming the ceramide, by allowing sphingomyelinase to act in an aqueous solution containing sphingomyelin, in the presence of a polar organic solvent miscible with water, and a step for collecting the formed ceramide.
