PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of realizing accurate image recording by preventing a sheet member from receiving a load from side guides during the image recording. SOLUTION: A paper feed cassette 17 is fitted to a printer part 12. Side guides 140, 141 are attached to the end of the main tray 61 of the paper feed cassette 17. The side guides 140, 141 are connected to a motor 79 installed in the printer part 12 through racks 171, 173, a pinion 135, and a gear 80. When the end of recording paper reaches a recording start position 94 (S3), a control part 200 controls the motor 79 to separate the side guides 140, 141 from both side ends of the recording paper (S4). When the rear end of the recording paper is detected by an optical sensor 31 (S6), the side guides 140, 141 are brought into contact with both side ends of the recording paper (S7).
