PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety mechanism for a radiator cap capable of preventing blowout of hot water from a refilling pipe of an upper tank when cooling water in an upper tank of a radiator is hot without requiring a special operation, inhibiting removal of a radiator cap only when inner pressure of a radiator tank is high and a positive pressure valve opens, and allowing the radiator cap to be freely opened when inner pressure of a radiator tank is normal and, positive pressure valve of the radiator cap is closed, and there is no risk of blowout of hot water even if the radiator cap is opened. SOLUTION: A heat sensitive lock means 7 engaging with a filler neck 8 to prevent the radiator cap C from coming off, when temperature of a downstream side of the positive pressure valve 3 becomes a prescribed temperature or more, is provided at a downstream side of the positive pressure valve 3 of the radiator cap C.
