<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the production of a discharge tube such as a glow starter or the like, by using metal lanthanum and enabling the activity of said metal to be fully utilized. CONSTITUTION:In a nickel sleeve 2, an external lead wire 4 such as a Dumet wire or the like which can be hermetically sealed into glass by melting is connected to one end of a metal wire 1 which incorporates a metal material 3 composed of lanthanum and a compound of lanthanum with nickel; thus a lead-in wire 5 is formed. A lead-in wire 5 shall be the lead-in wire on a fixed electrode side, a nickel lead-in wire 6 shall be the lead-in wire on the other side where a moving electrode is mounted, and a stem 7 is formed in the usual process. After the stem 7 is produced and the temperature thereof becomes almost an ordinary temperature, the lead-in wire 5 shall be cut in a necessary length as a fixed electrode. This cutting is done in such a way as forming, for instance, an oblique section 11 so that the metal material 3 in the nickel sleeve 2 of the lead-in wire 5 may be exposed as widely as possible. By doing this, a heat response element such as bimetal is connected to the nickel lead-in wire 6 by melting and said stem is hermetically sealed in a gas-tight container such as a glass bulb.</p> |
