PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of a filter and to keep a high filtering speed, in a filter having a liquid specimen cup and a filtrate cup integrally connected thereto, by providing such a structure that the action of a centrifugal vector on the filter comes to almost zero. CONSTITUTION:In the case of adaptation to an angle rotor type centrifugal separator, a filter F is arranged to a rotor so that filters 12 becomes almost parallel to a plane containing the axis of the rotor and the axis O' of a cup. By this structure, the filters 12 become parallel to a centrifugal vector during the operation of the centrifugal separator and the sludge in a liquid specimen moves toward a sludge retaining space 11d in a state apt to slide along the filters 12. A solvent is filtered through the filters 12 by the action of static pressure generated by centrifugal separation to enter a filtrate cup 13. In a swing rotor type centrifugal separator, filtering itself is at a right angle to the axis of the rotor and the filters become parallel to the centrifugal vector.
