LABELABLE NUCLEIC ACID, LABELED NUCLEIC ACID AND USE THEREOF

It is intended to provide a method for labeling a nucleic acid, for example, a method for labeling a double-stranded RNA capable of labeling siRNA with a nuclide suitable for imaging. A nucleic acid attached to at least one nucleoside monophosphate in which a chelating agent is conjugated to a purine base or a pyrimidine base. This nucleic acid can be labeled with a metal such as <SUP>67</SUP>Ga, <SUP>68</SUP>Ga, <SUP>99m</SUP>Tc, <SUP>111</SUP>In or <SUP>201</SUP>Tl via a chelating agent. A labeled nucleic acid can be used for evaluation of disposition of the nucleic acid, confirmation of the presence or absence of delivery of the nucleic acid to a target organ, imaging of gene expression, prevention and/or treatment of a disease and the like.
