<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device provided with a failure diagnostic function capable of performing failure diagnosis without giving a sense of incongruity to an occupant and giving ill influence to inherent operation. <P>SOLUTION: The seat belt device is provided with a retractor 10 provided with an electric motor 20 for performing winding and paying out of a seat belt 1; a motor information detection means 55 for detecting information regarding action of the electric motor 20 (rotation amount and current value); a first condition detection means 51 for detecting that an ignition switch is in the OFF state; a second condition detection means 52 for detecting that a getting on/off door closest to a mounting seat side of the seat belt 1 is open-operated; a failure diagnosis timing determination means 53 for starting failure diagnosis action when detection signals are outputted from both condition detection means; and a failure diagnosis means 54 for feeding a driving current to the electric motor 20 when the failure diagnosis action is started and performing failure diagnosis of a driving system including the electric motor based on the output of the motor information detection means 55 according to it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
