PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric propulsion device for a vessel preventing an excessive speed of a motor by consuming regeneration electric power, effectively utilizing an in-vessel space and realizing cost reduction. SOLUTION: The electric propulsion device for the vessel is provided with a generator for converting movement energy generated by the motor to electric energy; a drive device for controlling the electric energy generated by the generator according to plying of the vessel; an electric motor for converting the electric energy controlled by the drive device to movement energy; a propulsion machine for generating propulsion force of the vessel by the movement energy generated by the electric motor; and a regeneration electric power treatment device provided on a hull in the insulation state in order to consume the electric energy generated by the electric motor at speed reduction of the vessel and having a plurality of electrodes having a part immersed in seawater at the outside of the hull.
