The invention relates to a key device, comprising a housing made of two housing parts, wherein a key element is pivotally supported by means of a swivel carrier (ST). The swivel carrier has a recess, the cross-section of which has one or more first sections, which define a first minimum radius of the recess, and one or more second sections, which define a radius that is larger than the first radius of the recess. One of the housing parts has an elevation (EH), which can be received in the recess of the swivel carrier for a swiveling mount. To this end, the elevation in the cross-section thereof has one or more third sections, which define a third maximum radius of the elevation, which corresponds to the first radius of the recess, and one or more fourth sections, which define a radius that is smaller than the third radius of the elevation. If the elevation is received in the recess, in a second swivel position at least one or more first sections face the one or more fourth sections such that a first predetermined clearance (SP1) is created between the recess and the elevation, by which a connection of the housing parts by means of a friction welding method is enabled.
