PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of identifying one from among a plurality of remote controllers and performing display and operation in accordance with the feature of the identified remote controller, and to provide a display method. SOLUTION: The display device corresponding to a plurality of remote controllers is provided with: an identifying section for receiving remote control signals to be transmitted from the remote controllers and identifying as to which remote controller has transmitted the signal from the remote control signal; a storing section for previously storing screen information corresponding to the plurality of remote controllers; and a control section for displaying the screen information stored in the storing section when receiving a call request of the screen information corresponding to the remote controller identified by the identifying section.
