PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically switch whether to compensate for a primary color and a secondary color in color matching. SOLUTION: This color processing apparatus includes: an input converting means for converting input data indicated in an input device dependent color space into data indicated in a device independent color space; a determination means which determines an attribute of the input data and transmits a result of the determination a gamut compressing means and an output converting means; the gamut compressing means which, in accordance with the gamut information of an output device, performs gamut compression on the data indicated in the device independent color space based on the result of the determination; and the output converting means which converts the gamut-compressed data into output data indicated in a color space depending on the output device based on the result of the determination wherein the attribute is information corresponding to the primary color or the secondary color.
