<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of effectively utilizing a primary-phase transition substance. <P>SOLUTION: The substance having primary-phase transition property changing its volume on the basis of a temperature, has linear expansion coefficients that significantly differ between the temperatures prior to and after primary-phase transition. By utilizing this property, the primary-phase transition substance can be used in thermal switches or thermistors.
