PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image correction system and method for correcting a captured image while effectively utilizing an automatic white balance function. SOLUTION: A maximum value of Y is obtained from YCbCr image data represented within an RGB space constituted of a plurality of pixel color values and representing values of colors, wherein Y is a luma component, Cb is a blue chroma component and Cr is a red chroma component. Then, a pixel having a minimum S value is selected from HSV image data corresponding to the YCbCr image data, wherein H is a hue component, S is a saturation component, and V is a brightness component. Then, the S (saturation) value of the selected pixel is tested against a first threshold level, and the value of V (luminance) is tested against a second threshold level.
