A method and system for operating a 3rd party system/application not written for an x86 instruction set on an x86 portable device, comprising: using emulation and/or the 3rd party system/application proxy to run the 3rd party system/application containing a 3rd party system/application CPU on the x86 portable device containing an x86 CPU; accepting any plug- in required to run the 3rd party system/application and proxy; and operating the 3rd party system/application in a manner familiar to a user.
