PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser gyro capable of obtaining the angular velocity of gyration without using interference fringe. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser gyro of this invention includes the semiconductor laser 10 for emitting laser light L, and an optical detector 50 for monitoring the laser light L. The semiconductor laser 10 includes a cavity constituted with a layer including active layer, and a first and a second electrodes for injecting the carrier into the active layer. The cavity is provided with a terminal face capable of reflecting the light so as to surround the virtual polygonal path in the active layer. The rotational angular velocity can be obtained based on the spectral peak intensity and/or the peak frequency of the laser light L detected by the optical detector 50 in RF band.
