A burner for a stove is provided to allow a user to make soft ignition without causing great flame by performing the ignition through a lower flame hole while preventing mixed air from being introduced into an upper flame hole. A burner(3) for a stove comprises a body, and a cover(2) for covering a top surface of the body. The burner includes a burner head(4) exposed out of the cover. A plurality of upper and lower flame holes(5U,5L) are formed at a circumference of the burner head at a regular interval. An area of each lower flame hole is smaller than that of each upper flame hole, so the total area of the lower flame holes is smaller than the total area of the upper flame holes. The burner includes a mixing pipe unit(6) installed in the body. A first mixing pipe(6U) for the upper flame hole and a second mixing pipe(6L) for the lower flame hole are installed in the mixed pipe unit.
