摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make false high resolution due to improvement in jaggedness and reduction of coloring compatible with each other by controlling subpixels. <P>SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus, the RGB signal from an input terminal 1 is supplied to a triple oversampling/subpixel control processing section 12 and a luminance signal creation circuit 13. A luminance signal is created in the luminance signal creation circuit 13. A luminance edge detection and determination section 14 detects edges from the luminance signal, determines the kinds thereof (edges and the like of diagonal lines and vertical lines), captures the coefficient select signal S complying with the determination result from a memory 15 and supplies the signal to a control processing section 12. In the control processing section 12, the tap coefficient complying with the coefficient select signal S is set and triple oversampling processing is performed every RGB.
