<p>The invention relates to a connection device (26) for connecting the lower crossbar of a bay and the crossbar of a dashboard (10) or of a steering column holder (20). The connection device includes a body with a first fixation device (20), a second fixation device (28) and two branches deformable in the transverse direction upon the action of a shock applied in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The second fixation device (28) is provided on one side only of the steering column, the two branches are not symmetrical relative to a longitudinal direction, and one at least of the fixation device (28, 30) is a mechanical fixation device.
