PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accessory apparatus which is applicable even to an accessory shoe in the same form as the conventional one and can realize an excellent splash-proof construction around the accessory shoe. SOLUTION: The accessory apparatus 50 has: a contact member 10 electrically connected to the accessory shoe AS of an imaging apparatus; lock mechanisms 11, 14, 15 and 17 operated to a lock state where the accessory apparatus is fixed in the accessory shoe and a lock release state where such fixing is released; and a drip-proof member 16 for forming a drip-proof space around the contact member and the accessory shoe by abutting on the imaging apparatus. The accessory apparatus has moving mechanisms 11, 13, 14 and 15 moving the drip-proof member to a first position where the drip-proof member can abut on the imaging apparatus in accordance with the lock operation of the lock mechanism and moving the drip-proof member to a second position where the drip-proof member is made to retreat from the first position in accordance with the lock release operation of the lock mechanism.
