The stop (1) has a lower support part (3) with a support element (6) made of a plastic or composite material. The element has a housing apron (64) for housing a metallic mount (5) and an annular thrust collar (600) for retrieving efforts of a coil suspension spring (R). The element is in direct contact with a lower washer (21) to transmit the efforts exerted by the spring and an elastomer damping baffle plate. The element and the mount have fixation reliefs, a pin (7) and a traversing orifice (8) to assure fixation of the mount with the element by deformation of the mount or the element. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a metallic mount and a support element of a bump stop.
