PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston of which weight can be reduced as to pistons inserted and reciprocated in cylinders. SOLUTION: The piston is provided with a CC section formed out of CC composite and an other material section formed out of material other than CC composite, and is used for an internal combustion engine or an air compressor. A whole part of a side section facing an inner surface of the cylinder when the piston is inserted and reciprocated in the cylinder is formed out of the CC section, and a piston ring groove is not required.
