The invention relates to an anti-theft device (1) for a steering column, particularly that of a motor vehicle, including: a bolt (20) movably mounted to a first part (2) of the anti-theft device (1), which can prevent the rotation of the steering column; a latch (30) comprising a rotor (31) rotatably mounted to a second part (3) of the anti-theft device (1), which controls the movement of the bolt (20); and locking means (60) which prevent the movement of the bolt (20) when the two parts (2, 3) of the anti-theft device (1) are separated, said locking means (60) being actuated by the movement of a trigger element whcih is mounted such that it can be removed from a supporting position in which it prevents the locking means (60) from being actuated. The invention is characterised in that the trigger element is maintained in the supporting position by the rotor (31) of the latch (30).
