PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network monitoring system capable of surely specifying faulty equipment by reducing a load to network equipment. SOLUTION: In a network that connects a plurality of network monitoring devices 1 in a loop state through the network equipment, when a network monitoring device 1 cannot receive fault information from the other adjacent network monitoring device, the network monitoring device starts a traffic confirming part 17 to confirm the traffic state of one network, receives fault information from the other adjacent network monitoring device, and specifies network equipment in which a fault occurs by combining the confirmed traffic state and the received fault information.
