The variable flow rate pump has a thermostat (24) which cooperates with a spring-loaded slide (23) mounted in a recess (19) in the casing (15). This allows a perforated sleeve (22) on a pivot (16) to swivel, changing its orientation with respect to a rotor (10) inside it and changing the flow rate. An independent claim is included for machines fitted with the pump as an oil pump.
