<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a method for effectively utilizing the extracts of plants belonging to the genus Salacia (Salacia oblanga, Salacia reticulata and Salacia prinoides) having a high effectiveness, and also on one hand to provide an effective hair tonic for preventing or improving the troubles of hairs such as the thinning of the hairs, hair loss, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The extracts of the plants belonging to the genus Salacia (Salacia oblanga, Salacia reticulata and Salacia prinoides) are found out to have a function not recognized until now, i.e., 5α-reductase activity inhibitory effect, and to be effective for the troubles such as the thinning of the hairs, hair loss, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
