A portable terminal equipped with a touch screen is provided to enable a user to input information easily even by moving the user's thumb only as holding the terminal with one hand, therefore the user's posture of holding the terminal can be stabilized. An interface unit(120) is described on a touch screen(110), and is in curved line shape having a fan-shaped trace which sets one edge of the touch screen to the center. If contact occurs on the touch screen, a controller(130) carries out a corresponding processing function. If contact occurs on the interface unit, the controller carries out a processing function corresponding to coordinates of a contact point. The interface unit is in a radius of 2 to 6 centimeters.
