<p>A method and an apparatus for controlling SRNS(Serving Radio Network Sub-System) relocation in a WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) radio network are provided to perform an SRNS relocation process when an SRNS relocation timer is terminated, thereby using network resource more efficiently. A method for controlling SRNS relocation comprises the following steps of: determining whether all radio links, set in correspondence to a cell controlled by a serving RNC(Radio Network Controller), are removed out of the radio links set in a mobile terminal(S220); determining whether there is a cell controlled by the serving RNC in a monitoring set if the radio links are removed all, wherein the monitoring set is a set of cells monitored by the mobile terminal(S230); driving an SRNS relocation timer corresponding to the mobile terminal if there is the cell controlled by the serving RNC in the monitoring set(S250); and transmitting an SRNS relocation request message to a core network if the driven SRNS relocation timer is terminated(S270,S280).</p> |
