#CMT# #/CMT# The device (2) has a total harness sensor measuring total harness of water in a basin (4) e.g. individual swimming pool, an alkalinity sensor measuring alkalinity of the water, and a temperature sensor (12) measuring temperature of the water. A calculator (24) i.e. CPU, of a computer, is connected to the three sensors for automatically calculating equilibrium pH of water based on the total harness, alkalinity and temperature of the water, measured by the respective sensors. The total harness sensor has a reagent that contains sodium 2, 2' dihydroxy azonaphtalene-4-sulfonate. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for automatically measuring an equilibrium pH of water. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Device for measuring equilibrium pH of water in a basin e.g. individual swimming pool, collective swimming pool, aquarium and other water reserve, for verifying and managing quality of water in the basin. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The calculator automatically calculates the equilibrium pH of the water based on the total harness, alkalinity and temperature of the water, measured by the sensors, thus measuring equilibrium pH of water in the basin, in a precise manner.
