<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a user's operation to select software to be newly introduced. <P>SOLUTION: The control part of an image forming apparatus acquires software attribute information D2 of software executable by its own device from an upgrade server device. Then, processing history information R showing the history of the processing of each section of the image forming apparatus is analyzed, and frequency of the use of each function is searched (step S200). Then, a function whose frequency of use is higher than a predetermined value is specified (step S210), and the software attribute information in which information showing the function is stored in function information is extracted from the acquired software attribute information D2 (step S220). Furthermore, the software name of the extracted software attribute information is displayed on a touch panel (step S230).
