A backlight unit and a display device comprising the same are provided to enable a reflection sheet to perform a light reflection function and a heat radiation function at the same time, thereby reducing the entire thickness of a panel of the display device. A backlight unit comprises a light guide plate(750), a light source unit, and a reflection sheet(740). The light source unit is formed in at least a side of the light guide plate to generate light. The reflection sheet is disposed in the lower side of the light guide plate to reflect the light exposed from the light guide plate to the light guide plate side and conduct heat generated from the light source unit to the outside. The thickness of the reflection sheet becomes smaller as the reflection sheet recedes from the light source unit.
