A drum type washing machine (10) capable of preventing/reducing damage to a damper fixing unit (50) provided on a bottom plate (40) for securing a damper (30) at a fixed position by a reinforced rigidity of the damper fixing unit (50). The drum type washing machine (10) includes a water tub (11) installed in a body (10), at least one damper (30) to support the water tub, and a damper fixing unit (50) provided on the bottom plate (40) of the body to secure the damper (30) at a fixed position. The damper fixing unit (50) is formed via cutting of the bottom plate (40) and has a reinforced rigidity by a reinforcing portion (50,56) formed around each cut portion (53,54) of the bottom plate (40).
