An apparatus for extinguishing a fire occurring in a refrigerator is provided to extinguish the fire at the early stage by installing a fire extinguishing unit that sprays fire extinguishing material into the refrigerator. An apparatus for extinguishing a fire occurring in a refrigerator comprises a pipe(9), which is connected to an evaporator and is positioned adjacent to an outlet of refrigerant, and a fire extinguishing unit(10) connected to the pipe. When the fire occurs in the refrigerator, the fire extinguishing unit sprays fire extinguishing materials(40) contained therein into a refrigerator according to pressure of the refrigerant that flows along the pipe. The fire extinguishing unit includes a refrigerant containing section(20) connected to the pipe to contain the refrigerant, and a fire extinguishing section(30) for spraying the fire extinguishing material through an outlet port(32). |
