<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successfully prevent the deterioration in image quality when forming an image after an image forming apparatus is left for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: By segmenting developing bias applied to the leading edge of transfer material in accordance with the number of sheets output after turning on the power source of the image forming apparatus or elapsed time after finishing a previous job, the stable image quality free from the variation of image density is obtained by changing developing contrast at the leading edge of an image area in accordance with a result of detection when the apparatus is used after long time no use or when detecting that the apparatus is started first in the morning. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
