An image processing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to change the image property of an image frame according to the amount of motion of an input image frame, thereby improving the image quality. An image frame receiving unit(10) receives an image frame. A motion measuring unit(20) measures the amount of motion of the image frame received by the image frame receiving unit. An image processing unit(30) processes the image frame received by the image frame receiving unit in one of plural image modes having at least one image property. A control unit(40) controls the image processing unit to process the image frame in an image mode corresponding to the amount of motion measured by the motion measuring unit out of the plural image modes.
